iPod monster, Mr. Boh, childlike hope and optimism

I've been trying to find something to knit next. There are the things I've told my friends I will eventually knit for them... the things I want to knit for myself... I'm just trying to figure out where I am as far as what is too easy and what I'm not quite ready for yet. I did a quick little project the other day, an iPod cosy for my nano, and I think it turned out alright:

It's cute, but kind of inconvenient for anything other than storage, and even then I'm hesitant to put it in my purse as I don't want it to get snagged on anything. But it was a nice little instant gratification project after the weeks long in the making blanket I just finished. (And still have not mailed : / !)

At this point I can knit, I can purl, I can mix it up for different designs, but I don't want to jump into anything too advanced and get frustrated. My next venture, I've decided, will be a scarf with an intarsia pattern. Mr. Boh, to be specific. And after much googling, it seems that I will have to design the chart myself, as I am unable to find one to copy borrow.
Part of me is wary of such an undertaking, but I'm also excited to come up with my own pattern. To be the first (that I know of) to portray the Boh in yarn.... Dream big!

Peace out, homies.

Pompatus of Love Knit Blanket

Last night I finally completed my first ever real knitting project.. I present to you The Pompatus of Love Blanket! I made it for my Grandfather, who's name happens to be Maurice. (Some people call him Maurice...)
As you've probably gathered from the photos, The Pompatus is just basic squares woven together into a checkered pattern. I used about a skein and a half each of Caron's "Simply Soft" yarn in Country Blue and Bone.
I've known how to knit for a while but until this summer I never progressed past making pot holders; Creating the Pompatus still only involved making basic squares, but now, after knitting 12 of those suckers I am definitely ready for a more challenging project.

xo, Jenny.
