My cousin recently had a baby! While said baby was in utero, said cousin frequently referred to her offspring as "piglet." I had originally intended to shower upon this little piglet all kinds of hand made gifts reflective of her namesake, but time, how it slips away from me.
The baby is now three months old and I have only just completed a gift for her.
I got Linda Carr's "Wild and Wonderful Fleece Animals" from the library and traced the pattern for a porcine plushie.
I guess, considering I've never really made a stuffed animal, it came out alright, there's just one major problem.
This little piggy has a seriously jacked up snout.
Upon sewing it, and noticing how messed up the snout was, I had very naively hoped that when I finished stuffing it, it wouldn't look so bad.
No such luck.

The tail's pretty cute though, right? |
I've decided that rather than crying and ritualistically burning, I'll send it to Piglet anyway. She's a baby, after all, and babies are very impressionable. Maybe she'll spend the rest of her life thinking that that's how a pig's snout is supposed to look, having been exposed to my
Of course, she'll probably catch on someday, and demand some explanation. At that point I'll simply say, "I don't know what you're talking about, kid. When I gave you that pig, it's nose was perfect. It must have been something you did to it."
